    Dong Ding Oolong 1985
A blast from the past! This is a very well stored Dong Ding Oolong from 1985 when Careless Whisper & Like A Virgin were top of the charts! What a treat to drink such a venerable aged tea! The dried leaves are dark & oxidised and have an aroma of roasted grain & dried seaweed. After first infusion, the gaiwan lid wafts with sweet notes of honey, toffee apples, salted fluffy white butter popcorn, mixed with heavier aromas of sandalwood, camphor, leather, musty herbal medicines. The tea liquor is a dark amber with the aroma of dried orange peel. The tea floats on the tongue - light bodied but viscous, with a smooth clean mouthfeel. There is very little sourness often found in teas of this age. The sweet flavor of roasted rice fills the mouth, throat & sinuses. An after taste of charcoal roast turns to sweet caramel. A very pleasant journey, full of warmth & character. This is a fantastic tea for relaxation & contemplation.

A darker roast than newer, greener styles, the first infusion gives rise to an amazing aroma of sticky raisins & moist Christmas fruitcake. The tea liquor is a coppery orange whisky color, the mouthfeel is medium thick & slips across your palate in a lively dance of mild spices, the dry sweetness of preserved plum, underscored by a light charcoal note. A lingering aftertaste of sweet aged wood, turns to a slightly cooling sensation. High quality stuff at a reasonable price, sure to please discerning oolong lovers.

Dong Ding Oolong tasting Set 2018
This Dong Ding Oolong Set allows you to compare Heavy Roasted (50g) versus Light Roasted (50g) styles. The heavy roasted Dongding oolong gives an aroma of dried prunes, old orange peel, roasted sweet potato skin, with a very sweet high note. The flavor is of charcoal, roasted pine, baked nuts. The mouthfeel is dry and thick, not oily like yancha. In comparison, the roasted Dongding is very different, much more grassy & vegetal, but still thick & creamy, with a sweet strawberry milk-like fragrance.

    Ali Shan Tasting Set 2016
This set includes 50g Ali Shan Oolong + 50g Ali Shan Jin Xuan. The oolong leaves spring open very quickly and are simply beautiful, long stem, bud & two leaves. This tea has been expertly processed with great consistency. The liquor is yellow-green, turning to yellow-orange if over steeped. Fantastic aroma - light, floral and green, the mouthfeel is light and creamy with a subtly sweet finish. Pairs perfectly with quiche! By comparison, the dry, heated leaves of the Jin Xuan give an aroma of sugarcane. When steeped, the wet leaves give off melted butter, vegetal notes & baked bread. Later in the session, sweet potato, and caramel are noticeable. The tea liquor is thick, sweet, and grassy, but not astringent. Absolutely delicious! Try it out for yourself!

Famous Fu Shou Shan Farm 2016 winter
Fu Shou Shan is a highly sought after variety of high mountain Taiwanese oolong, grown at 2,600m elevation at a Government owned farm in the Lishan mountain range. Fu Shou Shan is known for being highly variable, with different harvest days producing different tastes & quality. Tea geeks in Taiwan compare Fu Shou Shan to rolling a dice! Our 2015 Spring selection was processed by a single tea maker and is a stand out example of what can be achieved with this terroir. When placed in a hot gaiwan, the dried leaves release a strong floral aroma with molasses and ripe fruits. Add water, and you get deep fried vegetables & crème brûlée from the leaves, with a candy sweet top note from the gaiwan lid. The tea itself is smooth, creamy and pleasantly sweet, with roasted notes coming through on the 2nd and 3rd infusions. We only have a tiny quantity of this excellent tea, get in quick before it runs out.
