Yiwu 2009 Spring

Aged in Yunnan this is a tasty, well balanced cake, very enjoyable to drink today. A great example of clean humid aging, not too wet, not too dry. A good value everyday drinker for those who like a bit of age on their sheng.

This is SUPER good sheng!!!!

Review by Stephanie (from Steepster)
Excellent balance between sweetness and pleasant astringency, with some fruit and floral aromas. Great energy. Seems super solid and one of my top picks from TeaUrchin so far :) (Posted on 11/8/14)

Pure delight for the taste buds

Review by swapilot (from Steepster)
After this review people may get the feeling that Eugene and Belle are paying me to write reviews, they are not! Another EXCELLENT sample from Tea Urchin! When I opened the sample bag and smelled the dry leaves I was greeted by this wonderful smell of pipe tobacco, yes pipe tobacco. The liquor has a beautiful golden color that smells of flowers mixed with tobacco. The taste, flowers mixed with tobacco, is unbelievable and everything about it is exceptionally balanced. There is some astringency and kuwei but the sweetness keeps everything in balance and the three work in perfect harmony to produce a taste experience that is a pure delight for ones taste buds! Nice tea

Review by JN
Pungent dry leaf aroma. Long leaves. Full flavored brew with no bitterness. Slightly drying in the mouth. Nose in the cup gives some fruit. Huigan is noticeable along with some mouth action. Nice orange colored liquor. Many brews, a bit of energy. Nice tea. Wine-like. (Posted on 10/24/13)

Good value

Review by Lionel Q
Very good ratio of Quality to Price, and very clean storage. (Posted on 9/25/13)

Not bad at all!

Review by Thaneadpol
Just tasted it. Its quite good for the price though a bit bitter and astringent, perhaps due to the blending of tai di cha.

The huigan is good and the aroma in the mouth is well preserved. The body is not in the same league of new gushu cha but not bad at all. (Posted on 8/15/13)

Robust and very good all rounder

Review by M C Yaw
I love it. It is well priced and very good all rounder. It is still young, strong, will develop and improve with age if given the right storage condition. (Posted on 7/16/13)

A good tea indeed

Review by Yaw SC
The 2009 Yi Wu Zheng Shan is a good puer and has potential for aging.
I noticed some 'old' tea leaf from cha di. In term of hui gan, cha di, durability and taste , no doubt is a good tea indeed. (Posted on 7/9/13)
