2004 Zhongcha - Lotus Aroma

This 2004 CNNP "he xiang" raw cake is famous for its fine aroma reminiscent of lotus leaf. Aged in Malaysia for 10 years and acquired by Tea Urchin in 2014.

We recommend 7g of tea leaves in a 100ml brewing vessel. This tea can re-infused at least 10 times.

Lovely Tea

I brewed about 7 grams in a zhuni clay pot and steeped the tea about 10 times.

The initial aroma is inviting and beautiful.

As it steeps it builds on the palate very well, and maybe is not exciting (like the other reviewer says) but is definitely enjoyable. The aging has a great powdery effect on the palate that gives sweetness and slight vanilla-like flavor.

I found this tea to be balanced and tasty as an evening treat...and for the price it is quite solid. (Posted on 12/22/16)

There's nothing wrong with this tea; it just doesn't do anything for me. I guess I prefer less subtle teas. This tea is gentle, nice, and for me, not very exciting. This is the first tea I've tried from Tea Urchin that I haven't absolutely been impressed by. I want to note that samples from this company are outstanding; the size is perfect, and they seem to have been created to order. Very nice! (Posted on 10/20/16)
